Architectural competition 1st Prize.

The project’s concept was to create a local cultural center that maintains a close relationship with the surrounding built environment and existing greenery. Given the nature of the neighborhood, the design called for a building that is intimate in feel and scaled to the human experience. The structure—a white, monolithic volume with a minimalist aesthetic—emerges from the dense, diverse mix of cultivated and wild greenery like an architectural sculpture set within the landscape. The interiors feature tones of natural wood and stone. A distinctive design element is the multifunctional hall, which features a black interior that contrasts with the rest of the complex.
